103 Search and Rescue Squadron to Conduct Training in Western Newfoundland

February 21, 2018 – Gander, N.L. – National Defence / Canadian Armed Forces

Residents of Central and Western Newfoundland are advised that there will be an increased presence of Canadian Armed Forces search and rescue aircraft and technicians in the area, as 9 Wing Gander’s 103 Search and Rescue Squadron travels from Gander to conduct training exercises near Deer Lake and Corner Brook from February 25 to March 2, 2018.

The training will include approximately 60 members from 103 Squadron, who will be completing search and survival exercises during the day and at night. This training is part of the 103 Squadron’s annual training cycle and will not impact operational search and rescue capabilities in the area.
