Christmas Tree Recycling
General Information
Trees are collected on regular garbage collection days, usually during the second week of January.
The trees collected by the program are chipped into mulch. The mulch is used in green spaces in the City and is available free of charge to residents. Keeping trees out of the landfill extends the life of the landfill, reduces greenhouse gases, and produces a valuable resource.
2008 Dates: January 7th – 11th
Residents are advised that TREES will only be collected during this week.
Trees must be placed at the curb no later than 8:00 a.m. on your regular garbage collection day.
Please remove all decorations, tinsel, plastic, and string. No artificial trees are accepted.
To increase collection efficiency, please put trees at a common location with an adjacent neighbour.
For more information please call 637-1630
