Garbage and Recycling
The City of Corner Brook is committed to thorough and effective waste collection. The City provides curbside garbage and a mandatory paper/cardboard recycling program. Both garbage and recyclables are collected weekly on scheduled routes.
Waste should be placed at the curb on your scheduled waste collection day by 8:00 a.m. There is a limit of four bags for regular garbage. Please consult the waste collection schedule to find out when waste collection takes place in your area.

Residential Curbside Recycling Program
On May 30, 2005, the City of Corner Brook launched a Mandatory Curbside Recycling Program, which makes separating recyclable material into blue transparent plastic bags mandatory for all city residents. The benefits of this program include extending the life of the Wild Cove landfill and reducing our community’s carbon footprint.
As part of the City’s Curbside Recycling Program, there are a number of things you can do. Place cardboard and paper products in a see through blue bag or flatten and tie cardboard into bundles no longer than 12 " x 12 " x 30". If possible place recyclable material 1.5m from your garbage. Corrugated cardboard is "waffled" between the layers (e.g. appliance boxes).
