The date is Nov. 2, 1965. The setting is a graveyard in the fictional coastal community of St. Kevin’s in Placentia Bay. You are watching a play by Al Pittman and the 10 characters are all dead The characters buried in this graveyard died at various ages ranging from 10-90 years; they are resurrected for one night of the year – All Souls Night – when their voices are returned to them.
The play explores many serious social, political, moral and theological themes through characters’ dialogue, often with great humor. The characters cannot see each other and are confined to their graves, but they come alive in the play, voicing their various degrees of despair.
