Ancient Relations – From Persia to Newfoundland

July 16, 2019 @ 7:30 pm

From the Aga Khan Museum in Toronto to the West Coast of Newfoundland, comes a unique experience where musical cultures meet and play together in an intimate and beautiful environment. Audiences will hear chamber music rooted in Persian classical scales featuring kamanche, the Persian spiked fiddle, played by Shahriyar Jamshidi, and the western cello, played by Rafael Weinroth-Browne, from the Toronto-based duo Kamancello. Joining Kamancello will be some of Newfoundland’s finest, playing a variety of traditional Newfoundland instruments.

*Please note that the July 16th concert in Corner Brook is a special passholder evening, consisting of a light pre-concert reception and post show question and answer with the artist*
