Humber Arm - Bay of Islands
Via Riverside Drive, The Bay of Island's North Shore Highway winds on for 50 kilometers. The scenic drive is known as Admiral Palliser's Trail, named after Sir Hugh Palliser, one-time Governor of the Colony Newfoundland, who, as navy captain, patrolled fishing treaty rights along the west coast of Newfoundland in 1764. Palliser eventually became part of the British Admiralty.

You'll travel through the townships of Hughes Brook, Irishtown-Summerside, Meadows, Gillams, McIvers and Cox's Cove. Be sure to stop in Hughes Brook and hike the Hughes Brook Trail.
