Shopping

Corner Brook is a significant retail destination that attracts visitors from all parts of western Newfoundland. Our city offers a full range of shopping experiences from quaint downtown shops and malls with unique products and services to the latest trend in "power centre" style developments.

West Street

West Street, part of Corner Brook's heritage district, was one of the City's first shopping areas. West Street businesses offer various merchandise and food to serve all of your shopping needs. In recent years the West Street area was revitalized through efforts of the Corner Brook Downtown Business Association. The project included inter-locking brick sidewalks, heritage street lights, benches, and greenery.

Historic Broadway

Historic Broadway was also one of the first shopping districts in the area. Broadway is lined with heritage properties including restaurants, pubs, and a variety of retail outlets. Broadway is also the heart of Corner Brook's nightlife.

Corner Brook Plaza

One of three shopping malls in Corner Brook, the Plaza is located on Confederation Drive and offers over 60 shops and services. The complex includes anchor tenants Sears and Zellers, a gas bar, McDonald's Restaurant and a wide range of retail and service tenants.

Millbrook Mall

The Millbrook Mall is located on Main Street in the heart of downtown Corner Brook and offers a unique mix of retail, services, office tenants and several restaurants. The mall is anchored by Shopper's Drug Mart Food Basket and Empire Theatres Twin Cinema.

Valley Mall

The Valley Mall, located downtown on Mount Bernard Avenue, is home to over 40 retail, office and service tenants. The Mall is anchored by Sobeys Food Stores. The Mall also features a Food Court and indoor parking.

Murphy's Square

Corner Brook's newest retail destination is Murphy's Square in the east end of the city off the Lewin Parkway. The development opened in mid-2001 with anchors Wal-Mart, Staples Business Depot, and Dominion Stores. Other tenants include smaller retailers, restaurants and a Clarica Life Insurance Company office.
