2024 Spring Cleanup

The 2024 spring cleanup will take place from May 6th to the 17th. If you’re putting something out, you must wait until the appropriate collection day. If you’re not sure what day that is for you, please see the collection schedule here: www.cornerbrook.com/city-services-bak/garbage-and-recycling

Pickup will take place on your regular garbage day. If you miss your collection day for bulk items, they will NOT be picked up.

Week 1 (May 6th to 10th) is for metals & bulk waste (furniture, branches, grass cuttings). These should be out in two separate piles.

Week 2 (May 13th to 17th) is for household garbage (organics, glass, textiles, toys, etc).

For further information about what is generally accepted or not throughout the year (paint, tires, etc) you can also head to www.wrwm.ca.

Note:

  • Appliances and/or metals should be kept separate from other items to allow for separate pickup by the garbage contractor.
  • Environmental guidelines require that prior to disposal, all fuel storage tanks must be emptied, vented and purged using steam or some other acceptable method.
  • All residential homes in the City of Corner Brook are required to separate garbage from recycling. Household garbage must be put in clear bags while recyclables can all be combined in blue transparent bags.
