Western Health’s vision is to improve the health and well-being of the residents on the Western region of Newfoundland and Labrador.
Western Health offers a broad range of health and community services which span the full continuum of care from community, to acute care to long term care and supportive services. These services are supported by a full range of health professionals such as: physiotherapists, speech language pathologists, nurses, physicians, social workers, pharmacists, and dietitians.
The authority services a population of 79,460 residents with forty nice percent of the total population residing within the Corner Brook – Humber Valley area. Western Health’s geographical boundaries are from Port aux Basque southeast to Francois, northwest to Bartlett’s Harbour, and on the eastern boundary north to Jackson’s Arm.
Western Health operates 20 community based offices, 24 medical clinics, and eight health facilities, including:

Within its facilities, Western Health operates 226 acute beds, 441 long-term care beds and 40 enhanced assisted living beds for individuals with mild to moderate dementia.
Western Health operates the Western Regional School of Nursing which offers a four-year baccalaureate degree in nursing. This program is offered om collaboration with Memorial University of Newfoundland.
The organization employs over 3,000 staff who work in 51 sites throughout the region with its regional office located in Corner Brook.
