The Public is advised that the City of Corner Brook is considering amendments to its Integrated Municipal Sustainability Plan and Development Regulations, as per the following:
Corner Brook City Council, having adopted Municipal Plan Amendment MP16-02 and Development Regulations Amendment DR16-02 on September 19, 2016, hereby gives notice of its intention to seek approval of the said Municipal Plan and Development Regulations amendments, in accordance with Section 17 and 18 of the Urban and Rural Planning Act.
In general terms, the purpose of Municipal Plan Amendment MP16-02 and Development Regulations Amendment DR16-02 is to change the land use designation and land use zoning of a parcel of land located off Spencer Street, west of the former G.C. Rowe Junior High School, from Community Service (land use designation and zoning) to Residential (land use designation) and Residential Medium Density (zoning). The amendments are necessary in order to enable consolidation of this parcel of land with the adjacent (west) private parcel of land to create a residential lot, to front onto Spencer Street.
A Public Hearing to consider Municipal Plan Amendment MP16-02 and Development Regulations Amendment DR16-02 will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday, November 3, 2016, at City Hall, Corner Brook.
Any person(s), corporation, partnership or association wishing to have objections, support, or comments for any part of the said Municipal Plan Amendments MP16-02 and Development Regulations Amendment DR16-02 considered at the Public Hearing shall, at least 2 days before the date set for the hearing, deposit with the City Clerk, two copies of a signed, written statement outlining the said objections, support, or comments. If no representation is received within the time indicated, the Hearing may be cancelled.
