Public Notice: Fire Ban Issued for the Municipality

The City of Corner Brook is issuing an immediate Ban on Recreational Open Air Burning within the municipality due to the extreme heat and lack of precipitation causing dry conditions.
City of Corner Brook residents should be aware that during this ban there is no open air burning allowed.
- Included in the ban is all open-air burning which includes cooking fires, fireworks and sparklers and other types of outdoor burning.
- Barbecues and other gas appliances are permitted under the ban, but the Fire Department advises residents to be careful when cooking.
During this time no new fire permits will be issued and existing permits are hereby cancelled.
To report a fire, or unauthorized burning, call 9-1-1.
This fire ban is instituted immediately and will be in force until further notice.
The City of Corner Brook and the Corner Brook Fire Department is urging citizens to be cautious in the city’s natural areas and green spaces.
