Two-Month Tax Holiday Implemented for Businesses Impacted by Public Health Measures

City of Corner Brook
PUBLIC ADVISORY

The city of Corner Brook has implemented a two-month tax holiday in order to support qualifying businesses affected by the outbreak.

If your business falls under one of the tax classifications found via this link, you are eligible for a two-month tax relief, subject to a limit of maximum $500 per month. There are some businesses not covered, so please consult the list. The City is aware that most other businesses are also impacted in some way, but the City has limited means and it intends to target businesses most directly impacted by the Covid-19 outbreak and the public health measures related to it.

Businesses will have to apply for this tax holiday. Please apply directly by filling out the online form. Alternatively, you can download the application form and email it to business@cornerbrook.com with required information.

Businesses that have already paid their 2020 taxes in full will have a credit applied to their 2021 tax bill.

If you have any further questions about the program or Provincial or Federal initiatives, please don’t hesitate to contact business@cornerbrook.com.

Tax Payment Flexibility
As always, businesses or individuals who have concerns or questions about their ability to pay taxes on time should contact collector@cornerbrook.com. Staff can provide options for payment and arrange payment plans in certain circumstances.
