The City of Corner Brook is pleased to announce that the Fire Department has received its new truck. Custom built for the Corner Brook Fire Department with input from firefighters, the truck is a Typhoon model assembled by E-One in Hamburg, New York, and supplied by Techno Feu, from St. Francois-du-Lac, Quebec. The cost of the truck was $732,157.24.

Special technical features include: A stainless steel chassis to avoid corrosion during the winter, as well as built in rollover cab cage protection. It has a 30 gallon foam system, as well a remote controlled rooftop water gun. With this custom build, members of the Corner Brook Fire Department were able to provide input on the design in order to meet their specific needs, making this a one of a kind vehicle. The truck is also wifi-enabled so that City engineers can identify issues and solutions with the manufacturer remotely, making repairs more efficient.
