Recreational Facilities set to Reopen With Alert Level 2

City of Corner Brook recreational division is excited to announce the reopening of select recreational spaces within the City as of Thursday, June 25th.
These include:
- Jubilee Field.
- The dog Park.
- The skate Park.
- Tennis courts.
- Beach volleyball courts.
- Basketball courts in The City.
Playground equipment at Margaret Bowater Park and Bartlett’s Point will reopen. An announcement about other playground facilities will be made at a later date. Margaret Bowater Park and Bartlett’s Point facilities will undergo regular sanitizing, however users are advised to adhere to physical distancing rules as well as bring their own hand-sanitizer.
Soccer: The Wellington Street soccer complex will be available to user-groups for drills, but not games. Spectators will not be allowed. Atlantic soccer field will be open to the public if they wish to visit on their own for unstructured practice. Eastside soccer field will be open to the public if they wish to visit on their own for unstructured practice. Daddy Dawe field in Curling will remain closed for the season.
Softball: Basha softball pitch will open to the public. Eastside softball pitch will be open to the public. Users are advised to bring hand-sanitizer and adhere to physical distancing rules. Atlantic softball pitch will remain closed for the season.
User-groups are required to undertake specific social distancing and hygiene measures in order to safely engage in their activities. Guidelines were developed in consultation with user groups and advice from provincial authorities. We are thankful for the patience of the general public and the cooperation of the sporting groups involved while we worked on these strategies. If the general public wish to use any of the open facilities listed above, they are advised to contact the specific user-groups involved for permission and guidance. The Splash pad at Margaret Bowater Park will reopen tomorrow, June 26th. The opening of Margaret Bowater Outdoor Pool will be delayed while staff undergo special training for COVID-19 protocols. A further announcement will be made in the coming days.
Residents and stay-cationing visitors are still welcome to use our outdoor green spaces and trail networks. When interacting with high-touch areas in any of these fields or spaces, residents and visitors are encouraged to bring their own hand sanitizer.

• Started June 24th
• Monday & Wednesdays 7:00-8:00pm
