Vehicles sized 40ft and Above Advised to Avoid Confederation Dr/ West Valley Rd Construction for Seven Days.

Due to the pouring of concrete into the new Truck Apron of the Confederation Drive/ West Valley Road intersection, commercial and recreational vehicles 40ft and larger will be prohibited from entering for a period of seven days. This will begin tomorrow (May 20, 2021) at 8:00 a.m. and allow time for the concrete to dry undisturbed. The aforementioned traffic is advised to use Exit 6 (Lewin Parkway) to enter Corner Brook.

Regular vehicular traffic will be allowed. Fire-trucks and ambulances will be able to pass.

Three additional flag people will be at 3 locations during this time to redirect traffic if necessary.

  • One flag person will be on Confederation Drive, before the visitor’s center so trucks can use the visitor center to turn around.
  • One flag person will be at the bottom of exit 5 – West Bound, directing them to go back on the highway and use Exit 6.
  • One flag person will be at the bottom of exit 5 – East Bound, directing them back on the highway and to use exit 6.

Motorists are advised to use caution and follow the direction of flag people at all times. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
