City of Corner Brook Buildings and Facilities Closed for Truth And Reconciliation Day on September 30th

MEDIA ADVISORY
In honour of the first National Day for Truth and Reconciliation this coming Thursday, September 30, the City of Corner Brook will be closing City Hall and other facilities. Transit will operate on its regular schedule and garbage pickup will remain uninterrupted. Civic Centre activities will operate as previously scheduled, but the office will be closed.
The day pays tribute to the lost children and survivors of residential schools, their families and communities. During this time we encourage residents of Corner Brook to take some time to reflect and learn about the lasting impact of residential schools, as well as the histories and cultures of the indigenous members of our community.
