2021 Holiday Season Schedules for the City of Corner Brook

PUBLIC ADVISORY
The 2021 Holiday Season is here meaning some changes to City of Corner Brook schedules for the coming week.
City Hall will be closed on Monday December 27 and Tuesday December 28 for the Christmas Day and Boxing Day statutory holidays. Garbage pickup will not take place as well, and regular pickup will begin again on December 29, 2021 starting with Day 2. After holidays residents have a limit of up to 6 bags, and there is no limit to blue recycling bags.
Our bulk holiday dropoff bins will be located at the Corner Brook Civic Centre parking lot from December 27, 2021 to January 3, 2022. Remember, these complimentary bins are intended for the excess waste which may result from the holidays. For more information on what is or is not allowed please head to www.cornerbrook.com/waste-programs. Christmas tree collection will take place on your regular pickup days from January 10 – January 14, 2022.
A winter parking ban is in place to ensure safe and efficient snow clearing. Every year, this is lifted for New Years’ Eve in order to encourage residents to not drink or consume cannabis and drive. Residents should make a plan on how they will be getting home after their New Years’ celebrations. Walk, call a cab, arrange for a ride, or plan to stay the night.
Residents and visitors will have until January 1st, 11:59 p.m. to remove a parked vehicle. In the event of a major storm, exceptions may apply and will be announced on the City of Corner Brook’s Website.
As always, residents are encouraged to call our 24/7 customer service line with specific concerns over the holidays: 637-1666. In the event of a fire or emergency, always call 911.
