On Monday the 27th, 2023 the City of Corner Brook was pleased to receive confirmation of a 1.5 Million contribution towards a new ladder truck from the Provincial Government. The Honourable Gerry Byrne, MHA for Corner Brook an Minister of Immigration, Population Growth and Skills was on hand at the Corner Brook Fire Hall to make this announcement to CBFD Staff and Councillors. The City’s current ladder truck is operational but in dire need of replacement. The City had set aside $300,000 in anticipation of procuring a new unit. This $1.5 Million will close the gap and make the purchase possible. The City would like to thank the Provincial Government, the Department of Justice and Public Safety and Minister Byrne for their work in providing this funding for the residents of Corner Brook and its surrounding communities.
