Corner Brook in the Running for Participaction’s Community Challenge

MEDIA ADVISORY
June is recreation month in Corner Brook and the City of Corner Brook is once again a part of this year’s Participaction Community Challenge. We are encouraging residents to download the Participaction App on their phone or log in on their website, here: www.participaction.com/programs/community-challenge.
Every minute of activity counts for Corner Brook, and it can be anything from gardening to walking the dog, or a bike ride or run. You can even set up a team of up to seven people and challenge your friends and neighbors! Canada’s most active community will receive $100,000 and one community from each of the remaining 12 provinces and territories will receive $7500 to $15,000 to support local physical activity and sport initiatives.
We have this handy calendar (below) for residents to use as a guide for suggestions. If you get out and about, make sure to tag the City’s social media channels for a chance to WIN a $300 gift card. If you’re a hiker, we also have another contest on the go: Hike the Man in the Mountain Trail, the Corner Brook Pipeline Trail and the Yogi trail, take a photo and send it to jlannon@cornerbrook.com and you will be entered to win a #300 gift card!
