Human Resources

The Human Resources Department provides support to all city departments and the community.  The department is responsible for:

  • recruiting for current employment opportunities
  • payroll
  • maintenance of employee records and files
  • employee training and development
  • occupational health and safety
  • negotiation and administration of union contracts
  • job descriptions and performance evaluations
  • work terms and on-the-job training in partnership with post secondary institutions
  • student employment opportunities through Canada Summer Jobs and Student Work and Services Program (SWASP)

The Human Resources Staff are available from Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., located on the second floor of City Hall.
