DESCRIPTION:Obsession is a 2025 horror film that follows Bear\, who buys a toy that grants his wish for his friend Nikki to fall in love with him. \nCOME EARLY FOR THE PRE-SHOW!!! \nWe show content related to the movie about a half an hour before the film begins. \nRuntime: 1 hour and 49 minutes \nContent Warning: Rated R for strong bloody violence\, grisly images\, sexual content\, pervasive language\, and brief graphic nudity. \nSummary: Obsession is a 2025 American supernatural horror film written\, directed\, and edited by Curry Barker. The film follows Bear (Michael Johnston)\, a music store employee who buys a supernatural toy that grants his wish for his friend Nikki (Inde Navarrette) to fall in love with him\, which makes her become obsessed. Cooper Tomlinson\, Megan Lawless\, and Andy Richter appear in supporting roles. \nA YouTube sketch comedian\, Barker uploaded his short horror film The Chair to his channel in 2023. When producer James Harris approached him to adapt it into a feature film\, Barker took the opportunity to pitch Obsession\, a different film idea of his partly inspired by The Simpsons episode “Treehouse of Horror II”. The film was shot in Los Angeles in October 2024 on a $750\,000 budget. It is Barker’s second feature-length film\, after Milk & Serial (2024)\, and first to be released in theaters. \nObsession premiered on September 5\, 2025\, at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF)\, where Focus Features acquired the distribution rights for $14–15 million\, the highest price commanded by a genre film in TIFF history\, and Jason Blum came on board as an executive producer under Blumhouse Productions. The film was theatrically released in the United States on May 15\, 2026. A critical and commercial success\, it grossed $519 million worldwide and set multiple box-office records as the tenth highest-grossing film of 2026 and fifth highest-grossing horror film of all time\, unadjusted for inflation.

DESCRIPTION:Watercolour Painting Exhibition in The Tina Dolter Gallery\, Located in The Rotary Arts Centre\nOn Display from July 29th – Sept. 15th 2026 \nJessica Reid Thomas’s work explores the interconnectivity of ecosystems and her own place in them. She is particularly interested in the symbiosis of indigenous plant species and what we can learn from them and apply to our human relationships. By careful observation of shifting light\, forms\, colours\, and textures\, she seeks to capture a raw beauty that is often overlooked and under appreciated. \nJessica aims to engage local community members and discuss the intersections of disability\, environment\, and non-toxic art practices. By publicly discussing MCS and her art making\, she is creating a space for other sensitive individuals. Her project aims to increase accessibility by providing representation for artists with environmental disabilities and advocating for safer\, non-toxic spaces within the cultural sector.

Scott Neary (guitar/vocals) and Jenn Edwards (keys/vocals) are joined by local musicians Scott Sheppard (bass) and Paul Harris (drums). \nA Ptarmageddon show is like listening to that burnt CD that lived in your first car. What ties their genre-bending sound together are rich vocal harmonies and tight arrangements\, leaving enough space for some guitar pyrotechnics by frontman Scott Neary. Their collaborative\, playful songwriting approach has generated a truly eclectic catalogue of songs\, ranging from sincere to tongue-in-cheek. \nThe Labrador-based band has earned four Music NL Award nominations to date\, including Alternative Group of the Year. The original trio came together in 2021 as a pandemic project\, live-streaming acoustic covers from their living rooms. Since releasing their debut EP\, Holding Pattern\, and following it up with the concept album\, Dream Logic (2022)\, they’ve become one of the most sought-after groups in the region.
