A property tax certificate is issued to certify the status of the property’s account balance. To obtain a tax certificate, a request must be made to the Treasury Department at City Hall. There is a $100 fee for this certificate. Written requests must be accompanied with payment. To order a tax certificate please complete a Request for Tax Certificate Information form and mail your request along with a cheque made payable to the City of Corner Brook to:

Important information regarding Tax Certificates
- Tax Certificates are used primarily during the sale/purchase of a property or refinancing.
- Tax Certificates are issued upon requests for tax information made by solicitors, owners, financial institutions or mortgage holders.
- A tax certificate request form is required together with the applicable fee. A cheque for the applied fee must be made payable to the City of Corner Brook.
- The tax certificate request form must include the name, address, telephone and fax number of law firm or financial institution; name of the current property owner(s); property address, and closing date.
