The Marina Redmond Centre is Corner Brook’s home for recreation, fitness and family fun. Located on the Grenfell Campus of Memorial University, this modern, fully accessible facility brings together aquatics, fitness and gathering spaces under one roof, offering something for every age and ability.

Who Was Marina Redmond?
The Marina Redmond Centre is named in honour of Marina Redmond, who served the City of Corner Brook for 27 years, including 23 years as City Clerk. Beyond her dedication to public service, Marina was a passionate multi-sport athlete, volunteer and organiser, especially in soccer and basketball. She also helped introduce pickleball to Corner Brook, building a program that welcomed players of all ages.
Marina believed recreation should be inclusive, accessible and fun for everyone. This facility carries that belief forward.

Aquatics
- 25-metre Lane Pool with diving blocks, a diving board and removable lanes, ideal for lessons, lane swimming and competitive training.
- Leisure Pool with a zero-depth entry for easy wheelchair access, plus a lazy river, water fountain and tipping water buckets.
- Freestanding waterslide for an extra splash of excitement!
- Second-floor viewing area so family and friends can watch from above.
Fitness and Recreation
- Fitness centre equipped for strength and cardio training.
- Gymnasium for sports, drop-in play and programs.
- Multipurpose room with dividers, suitable for classes, meetings and community events.
Childcare
The Marina Redmond Centre is also home to a daycare operated by the YMCA.
Accessible and Family-Friendly
The Centre was designed so everyone can take part. Along with men’s and women’s change rooms, a Universal (Family) Change Room includes a fully accessible washroom, shower and adult changing table. The zero-entry leisure pool makes getting into the water simple for people of all mobility levels.
