Expanded Transit Hours and On‑Demand Service
Beginning April 1, 2026, the City of Corner Brook is introducing expanded transit hours and enhanced on‑demand service, marking another major step toward making public transit faster, more convenient, and more responsive to residents’ needs.
Evening and Weekend On‑Demand Service
- Weekdays: On‑demand transit will operate from 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.
- Saturdays and Sundays: On‑demand service will operate from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
To book an evening or weekend trip, riders must use the Blaise mobile transit app, available in app stores and at www.blaisetransit.com. Riders may also book by phone at 709‑289‑3124.
Important Note for Blaise App Sign‑Up
When creating an account in the Blaise app:
- Regular transit users who are not registered Accessible Transit clients must not select “reduced mobility.”
- This option is reserved exclusively for riders who have been formally approved for Accessible Transit service.
Fixed‑Route Service
From 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, residents can continue to rely on the fixed‑route bus system. Additional improvements to this service are planned for later this year. Staff are working with consultants and community members to finalize the next phase, and further details will be shared as they become available.
On-Demand Accessible Transit
Corner Brook Transit (CBT) Link provides accessible transit services within the Corner Brook area and is operated by the City of Corner Brook. All users must be registered, and eligibility is limited to individuals with disabilities who cannot use the conventional transit system. The City is pleased to introduce this new on‑demand, door‑to‑door accessible service, which has been in operation since July 2, 2025.
To use the service, eligible riders must complete an application form. This form can be obtained by calling 709-637-1666 or downloading the PDF. A health care professional (such as a family physician, social worker, physiotherapist, mental health professional, or occupational therapist) must complete Section 2 of the form. Please ensure that all pages of the form are submitted; incomplete submissions will not be processed and may result in longer processing times.
Eligible individuals can book a ride using the Blaise mobile transit app, available in app stores and at www.blaisetransit.com. Riders may also book by phone at 709‑289‑3124. The van will transport riders to any destination within the city limits during regular service hours. If you have been approved for an attendant or support person, they may travel with you at no cost. Your attendant or support person does not need to pay a fare when accompanying you.
Once approved for on-demand accessible transit, riders are required to pay the transit fare or purchase an M‑Card as detailed below. Riders eligible for the free transit program should refer to the section below to determine whether it applies.
Free Transit Passes For Eligible Residents
The City of Corner Brook will provide free bus passes to eligible residents, enhancing accessibility to public transportation. This initiative aims to support residents on income support, youth receiving youth services, and seniors receiving the Guaranteed Income Supplement (GIS). The program is made possible through generous funding from the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador.
Residents on income support and youth receiving youth services will be contacted directly by their provincial representatives. Seniors receiving GIS can obtain their monthly passes by visiting City Hall. A government-issued ID and proof of GIS will be required (proof of receipt from Service Canada – if you need it mailed, call 1-800-277-9914). Passes can be renewed monthly through the online system or at City Hall. Questions about the program can be forwarded to The City at 709-637-1666.
Below, you will find detailed information on fares and schedules, an interactive map, and a list of locations where passes can be purchased.
