The City of Corner Brook respects the collective bargaining process and remains committed to reaching a negotiated agreement with CUPE Local 4386.

Throughout negotiations, the City has participated in bargaining and conciliation in good faith and has advanced proposals that recognize the valuable contributions of the Civic Centre employees while balancing its fiscal responsibility to taxpayers. The City’s proposals are consistent with recently negotiated agreements with other CUPE locals within the City.

Another conciliation session is scheduled for later this month, and the City remains optimistic that the parties can reach a fair and sustainable agreement at the bargaining table.

We understand that employees and residents may have questions regarding the status of negotiations, however collective bargaining is most effective when discussions occur at the negotiating table. Out of respect for the bargaining process, the City will not be commenting further or participating in media interviews at this time.
