The City of Corner Brook will be holding its municipal election on October 2, 2025. For anyone interested in running for city council, the nomination period will begin August 28th and end September 4th, 2025.
To run for City Council, you must be:
- Eligible to vote in the municipal election
- Not be in arrears of taxes or other charges payable to the City
- Be ordinarily resident for a period of 30 days before nomination period (as of July 28, 2025)

Voter registration is now open – To ensure you are on the voter’s list as well as register for Vote by Mail, or learn how you can vote by proxy, head to www.cornerbrookvotes.com.
To be eligible to vote, you must be:
- A Canadian Citizen
- Be at least 18 years of age on or by election day (October 2nd)
- Be ordinarily resident for a period of 30 days before nomination period (as of July 28, 2025)
There will be advance polls on September 23rd and 27th, 2025.
