The City of Corner Brook will be officially kicking off the volunteer recruitment drive for the 2026 Newfoundland and Labrador Summer Games this coming Thursday, January 29th, from 4:00 p.m. To 8:00 p.m. at the Marina Redmond Centre! Residents are invited to drop by, chat with City and Games staff, enjoy some ice cream cake and those who sign up can even join us for the regularly scheduled open swim at 7:30 p.m., at no cost.
We are looking for 500 volunteers to fill roles that match their personal interests from August 8th to the 15th. Duties include food services, VIP Services, security services, Athletes’ Village, and more during the games as well as helping with preparations leading up to August 8th!
Interested individuals must be 15 years of age as of July 1st, 2026 and also provide a clear background check with the RNC. For a commitment of at least ten hours throughout the week, volunteers will receive a volunteer kit with 2 shirts and a hat, volunteer recognition event post-Games, as well as volunteer recognition initiatives in the lead up to and during Games time.

If you can’t make it to the recruitment drive kick off event, no worries! We will also start welcoming online submissions at www.nlgames.ca beginning 9:00 p.m. On January 29th and going until the games begin. When we reach the 500 person goal, other interested individuals will be wait-listed.
