Beginning April 1, 2026, the City of Corner Brook is excited to introduce expanded transit hours and enhanced on-demand service, marking another major step forward in making public transit faster, more convenient, and more responsive to residents’ needs.

On weekdays, on-demand transit will now be available between 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., giving riders greater flexibility to get where they need to go later in the evening. On Saturdays and Sundays, on-demand service will operate from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., ensuring reliable weekend transportation options. To book a trip for evenings and weekends, users must download the Blaise mobile transit app available in app stores as well as at www.blaisetransit.com. Users can also call (709-289-3124) if they wish.

From 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, residents can continue to rely on our fixed-route bus service. Later this year, this service will also undergo some changes. Staff are continuing to work with our consultants and community members to develop this exciting next phase, and details will be shared as they become available.

Our transit fees will remain the same:

  • $3.25 for adults
  • $2.00 for children (under 12)
  • Pre-K with adult accompaniment ride free

The City has budgeted $826,000 for transit services in 2026, building on significant investments made in 2025 that doubled fixed-route capacity and added two new, fully accessible buses to the fleet. These improvements are part of the City’s gradual approach to building a modern, user-focused transit system for Corner Brook, shaped by valuable feedback from residents through a 2021 transit study as well as ongoing engagement with transit users and the public. Together, these enhancements reflect the City’s commitment to a faster, more efficient, and more accessible transit system—one that reduces wait times, improves connections, and better supports the daily lives of Corner Brook residents.
