The City of Corner Brook will be hosting a public fireworks display at Margaret Bowater Park on Tuesday, July 1 at 10:15 p.m. in celebration of Canada Day.
Residential fireworks will also be permitted during this time. Therefore, we would like to remind residents of the City’s bylaw regulating fireworks.
On Canada Day, residential fireworks are only permitted between the hours of 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. – 1:00 a.m. of July 2. These hours are in place to make timing predictable for those with sensitivities to loud noises, and pets.
Note that the bylaw does allow fireworks discharge to occur the day before (June 30) or day after (July 2) as well, for families unable to celebrate day of. They must however get a permit, with the forms available via this link: LINK
We ask that you discharge fireworks responsibly. Have water nearby in case something goes wrong, do not discharge fireworks while intoxicated, and make sure a responsible adult is always present.
