Pursuant to powers vested in it under section 225, 227 and 228 of the City of Corner Brook Act R.S.N.L 1990, c. C15, as amended and all other powers enabling, the Corner Brook City Council, at its Regular Council Meeting of June 22, 2026 issued a notice of motion to rescind the existing Bus Regulations and replaces it with the Bus Regulations, 2026 at the next public Council meeting.

With the implementation of the City’s new On-Demand Transit system, amendments are required to ensure the existing by-law aligns with current operational practices. Key changes include revising the definition of “Bus” to encompass the accessible transit van, introducing a definition for “On-Demand Public Transit,” and updating Section 8 to reflect the operational requirements of both the fixed-route transit service and the On-Demand Transit system.

The public will have an opportunity to provide input on the proposed regulations and repeal up to July 10, 2026. Comments can be submitted in writing to the City of Corner Brook P.O. Box 1080 Corner Brook   NL, or via email at aobrien@cornerbrook.com or by calling (709) 637-1626.
