Beginning at 6:00 a.m. this coming Thursday, July 24, West Street will be closed from the intersection of Central Street to the KFC drive through exit for the setup of Friday’s Jigs & Wheels festival opener concert with Kim Mitchell. The closure will last until Saturday, July 26 at 2:00 p.m.
Pedestrian access will be maintained for local businesses throughout this time until the gates open on Friday at 6:00 p.m., at which time the concert will become a 19+ event.
Road users can access businesses on the east side of the road through the exit onto Hospital Hill, which will be temporarily open for entry throughout the closure.
We thank residents and visitors for their patience and encourage everyone to come and join us for the biggest party in Corner Brook! Tickets are available at www.tickettide.ca for $45 online and will be $55 at the gate plus taxes and fees.
Detours will proceed as follows:
- Road users coming down Hospital Hill will take a left and proceed to their destination through Church Street and onwards, accessing West Valley Road and connected roads through Armstrong Avenue and Humber Park.
- North-bound road users coming from West Valley Road can detour through Central Street, Armstrong Avenue East Valley Road and Hospital Hill.
Signage will be in place to direct road users.
